Helen Elizabeth Culver Sullivan, 88, of Sun City, Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 7th, 2017 in Statesboro, Georgia.

Helen was born on April 24th, 1929 in Jersey City, New Jersey. She was the devoted wife of the late Daniel Joseph Sullivan II for 57 years. The two of them lived happily in Freehold, NJ for 47 years where they raised their four children, the late Kathleen Sullivan Paulson and their three sons. They moved to Sun City in 1996 where they enjoyed their retirement. Helen was a proud member of the Bluffton, S.C. Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she assisted her husband in founding the Sun City Veterans Association. Inspired by her unwavering patriotism, she and other Sun City residents tirelessly sent care packages to deployed American soldiers. Helen most enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was loved and admired by all who knew her. In her final years, she found comfort and companionship in spending time with her close friend Lewis Morton of Sun City.

Helen is survived by her sister Barbara Culver Caster of El Cajon, CA, her sons: Daniel J. Sullivan III, Gary B. Sullivan MD., and Robert B. Sullivan Esq., 14 grandchildren: Christine, Daniel IV, Leigh, Patrick Esq., Heather, Jennifer, Garryowen, Erin, Connor, Robert II, Sean, Daniel, Rileigh, and Brian, and 12 great grandchildren: Connor, Kelly Shea, Megan, Charles, Thomas, Brady, Vincent, Kip, Alexandria, Caroline, Julianne, and Patrick II. She is also survived by beloved and devoted daughter-in-laws Deborah Bailey Sullivan and Julie Alvey Sullivan.

The Sullivan family wishes to extend their gratitude to The Lodge at Bethany in Statesboro, GA, who provided unparalleled assisted living support for Helen in her final months, and to the Ogeechee Area Hospice for their vigilant care in her final days.
